The Three Shadows is a small, obsessive corner of the literary
world. We are an antiquarian book shop specializing in first editions
and collectible books in Horror, Mystery, and Science Fiction.

The shop takes its name from the three genres at its heart — Horror as the
first shadow, Mystery as the second, Science Fiction as the third.
Within those shadows we focus on the books that serious collectors
pursue: first printings, small press limited editions, signed copies,
and titles.

All books are personally examined, and described. Condition
grading follows established antiquarian standards. Every listing
reflects what is actually in hand, not what the seller hopes is true.

We also carry a secondary selection of antiquarian and out-of-genre
material — historical curiosities, militaria, signed non-fiction, and
the occasional unexpected find — because a good bookshop should have
room for the book that doesn't quite belong anywhere else.
